Florida DUI Schools

In Florida, as part of a DUI conviction, it is a requirement by the DHSMV (Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles) and Florida courts that you attend DUI School. If this is your first DUI conviction you must complete DUI School before a hardship reinstatement is issued by the DHSMV. A hardship reinstatement allows you to drive to and from your place of employment or school even with a suspended license. If you receive a second DUI conviction in 5 years or a third or subsequent DUI conviction in 10 years, it is a mandatory requirement by both the court and the DHSMV that you complete DUI School as part of your sentence.

If you want to continue to have driving privileges, you must attend DUI School. If you don’t, your driver’s license will remain suspended indefinitely. An experienced lawyer can help minimize any charges against you as a result of your DUI case. Our lawyers will argue that since you are attending DUI School that the court should be less harsh with any other penalties they give to you as a result of your DUI conviction.

DUI School in Florida

DUI School is highly effective in educating individuals who have been convicted of a DUI offense. It often has life-changing effects on those who attend. You will learn about DUI laws, driver responsibility and what results a DUI accident can have on its victims and their families. DUI School will also help you confront any issues you may have with alcohol and/or drugs and to get the help that you need and deserve to provide yourself with a clean and sober future. The amount of time that you need to spend attending DUI School will be based on your conviction and the circumstances surrounding it. At Thomas & Paulk our DUI attorneys can ask the court on your behalf, if this is your first offense, to allow you to attend DUI School as an alternative to other severe penalties.
